Peter Yates

I joined East Mercia way back in August 1984. My first role within the club came as the editor of the Club's Magazine "The Messenger" which evolved in 1986.

During my 23 years with East Mercia I have had a bash at being President, Secretary and a general committee member too.

I have been roped in to a number of things over the years including helping out with the now legendary EMMSC shows :-) I’ve been honoured to have worked with some of our most prestigious leaders and members over the years and my various tasks on sub committees has been to help with the major events at Ravenstor, Castleton, Eyam and Gradbach.

I have always upheld and remained committed to the ethos of "The Brotherhood of MSC clubs" throughout the UK and beyond. During my years here I have learned that East Mercia can be something for anyone… For some it is a safe haven for wearing gear, for others it is an ideal social gathering of likeminded guys and it is also a place to safely meet guys for fun. Many friendships have been formed over the years and the brotherhood has lasted longer than many commercial establishments... It is not just a fuck and go community it is a place where friends and friendships evolve... East Mercia has been my family for half my life and has brought a great joy and satisfaction to me as I know it has for many others too.
